CAREER HISTORY

1998-Present: Contract reporter for People magazine, published by Time Inc. Hundreds of bylines to date in assignment range that includes cover stories, celebrity, human interest, political, investigative, arts/entertainment, crime, medicine, disaster, education, family, business, etc. throughout the United States. Extensive experience in all areas of both solo and team reporting and writing, often under tight deadlines and filing from the road. Several of Lang’s exclusive national-print features in People have been picked up and aired on television shows such as The Oprah Winfrey Show, Today, Good Morning America, CBS Evening News, Dateline NBC, Inside Edition and Hard Copy.

1989-Present (various time segments): Contributing editor/writer for Cowles Media Western Styles, a national magazine (no longer published) of upscale Southwestern culture, fashion, art, literature and music. Articles published in national magazines Exceptional Parent, Sports Traveler, The Lyre and People en español; regional magazines Texas Parks & Wildlife, Austin Monthly, Runner/Triathlete, The Good Life and Upscale Austin; regional newspapers Baton Rouge Advocate, New Orleans Advocate, Acadiana Advocate, Austin American-Statesman and Westlake Picayune. Researcher and interviewer for biography of U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales: "The President's Counselor" (HarperCollins/NY; author Bill Minutaglio); and “Unlocking Your Brilliance: Smart Strategies for Women to Thrive in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math” (Greenleaf Book Group LLC; author Karen Purcell).
